At Cargo Eye Care of Las Colinas, we are excited to offer Nuance Audio all-in-one hearing glasses for perceived mild to moderate hearing loss. “The Nuance Audio glasses are the first pair of regular-looking glasses that discreetly help people with mild to moderate hearing loss,” explained Dr. Jonathan Cargo. “The glasses double as over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids, the kind that don’t require a prescription or visit to an audiologist.”
How Do Hearing Glasses Work?
Nuance Audio Glasses are not just a “sound amplifier”, but an actual medical device. They are eyewear frames embedded with groundbreaking technology which seamlessly integrate an air conduction over-the-counter hearing aid designed to amplify sound for adult users (18yrs and older) with perceived mild to moderate hearing impairment.
Can I Have My Vision Prescription Put in Hearing Glasses?
Yes! Nuance Audio Glasses can, if needed and in most cases, be used in conjunction with prescription lenses for adults who also require correction of visual defects, taking care of two issues at once. What a time to be alive!
By default, Nuance Audio Glasses are equipped with transitions lenses, featuring a gray tint on the shiny black frame and an emerald tint on the shiny burgundy frame. However, prescription optical lenses can be fitted to Nuance frames as an optional upgrade, customized to your unique vision prescription and preferences.
Do Hearing Glasses Come in Different Styles and Colors?
Nuance Audio Glasses come in three different comfortable designs (frame shapes) and two colors (black and burgundy). They weigh no more than traditional glasses and are not available in sunglasses at this time.
How Do You Charge Hearing Glasses and Is There an App?
Nuance Audio Glasses come with a docking station and USB-C charger. The glasses typically take about three hours to fully charge and will stay charged for about eight hours.
The “Nuance Audio” App, downloadable for free from IOS Apple App Store and Google Play Store, enables the air-conduction hearing aid by activating, personalizing and controlling the settings within the hearing aid.
