The Cargo Eye Care Story
When Dr. Cargo’s daughter was 4, she began to complain that she couldn’t see very well, so they immediately scheduled an appointment with the retail optometry practice where Dr. Cargo was working at the time. They found that she had a strong need for glasses, but when it was time to pick out a pair of frames at the optical shop next door, they found a disappointing and frustrating lack of options available for children. They had a very small amount of frames to choose from, and the office generally did not feel like a place where families could come to get their eye care needs met. It was then that Dr. Cargo decided he was going to build an optometry practice that prioritized all members of the family, from the youngest to the oldest.
Since its founding in 2008, Cargo Eye Care is proud to offer a wide range of services and eyewear for people of all ages. When you walk into our office, we want you to feel like this is a place where you and your kids can be served well by experts in both adult and pediatric eye care. With six kids of his own, Dr. Cargo knows just how important it is that parents are confident in the care their children receive. He wants the best care for your children, just as if they were his own!
Glasses for Patients of All Ages
When you walk into our office, we have a specific waiting area just for kids, filled with toys for them to play with while they wait to be called back for their appointment. Here, you will also find a full wall of eyeglass frames, and all of them just for kids!
From Nike to Oakley to Vera Bradley, we have a wide variety of popular brands available in kid-sized frames. If you’re worried about your child breaking their glasses during sports or other activities (or just in the normal course of being a kid!), we also have several glasses from Dilli Dalli with Intelliflex technology. These glasses were designed with kids in mind, so they can be stretched vertically and horizontally and still “snap” back into place. Kelly Cargo, Dr. Jonathan Cargo’s wife, manages the optical department. As a mother of six beautiful kids, she bring’s a mom’s perspective to the types and brands of frames they carry for children. Ultimately, our wonderful staff of doctors and opticians will help you and your kiddo(s) find the best frames for your kid based on the active lifestyle they lead and their eye care needs.
